Time to say goodbye

Effective June 20, 2026, we will discontinue making this website available. We had planned to keep it available indefinitely so customers can access information about our spoon blade oars and how to order a pair through the non-profit Gig Harbor BoatShop.

We just received notice that the annual cost for webhosting was going up yet again - it costs almost three times as much now as it was three years ago.

We will continue to accept calls and emails as usual. Our phone number is 360-277-9015 and our email address is boat_works@yahoo.com. We are always ready to talk boats, so please feel free to call or email.

GPBW Oars

For many years, Grapeview Point Boat Works built custom wooden spoon blade oars, in any length from 6 ft to 10-1/2 ft.

They are now being made at the Gig Harbor BoatShop under the direction of Tom Regan.

Each oar is hand-crafted from spar grade Sitka spruce.

We finish our oars by hand-applying six coats of a high quality spar varnish.

We add weights in the grip for greater balance and ease of rowing.

We use premium leather for chafe-resistance and protection.
